Pebble Time Bond

One of the most famous Bond watches is the Rolex Submariner from Goldfinger. It's renowned for a couple of reasons: 1) Rolex is the brand Broccoli had Bond wear in the novels. 2) It's on a ridiculously narrow perlon strap.

A derivative of this strap, in NATO form, is now one of the most ubiquitous straps to grace watches around the world. I thought it would be fitting to have a crack at this with my Pebble Time Round. A smart gadget watch? Q would be so proud!

Instead of  a NATO or perlon strap, i went with a 3-ring Zulu. It looks as sleek as the original perlon, but has proper hardware holding it on. It's a nice middle ground. I couldn't, however, bring myself to ordering it several mm too narrow. I'm just not THAT authentic.

The bezel is another Seiko, from the mini-submariner model 7s26-0050. It's a pretty faithful reproduction and has a bit of dome to it, which is nice.

Lume shot!

Soto X, my favourite minimalist watchface for the PTR

I'm currently tracking down a custom chapter ring, a bevelled "hoop" which sits between the LCD and the bezel, to fill the white gap. If i can get one with minute marks on it, it will make the watch face look significantly bigger!

I have such a chapter ring on my SNZF21, but it's slightly too large.

That inner ring there, between the bezel and hour markers!

I'll probably have to get one machined, but that then opens the door for producing proper, custom fit bezels for these things in any desired pattern. I'm super keen to make a Pebble Time Kermit!

Awesome!

    1. Wow, i have NOT been getting alerted to comments on here! :p

The watchface was called "rolexUS", but it appears to have been pulled from the store. It's not even on my phone any more!
